Job hunting in East Honolulu -tips?

Curious what people think. You can expect to pay around $3,249 for rent here. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Thoughts? There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem solid.

I've been here 10 years and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The thing nobody mentions is job market. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the cost of living is legit. And if you're into kayaking, this place is decent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Uptown side vs the Fairview side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..
