First post here. I grew up here but left for a while. Average temperature is around 53--F, so expect cold winters. Household incomes average around $146,890 in East Islip. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. What would you do? Cheers. The city has invested a lot in new development. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.
