My experience has been mostly positive. I genuinely enjoy living here. The only thing I'd watch out for is food scene. Other than that, Good luck with whatever you decide..

Bought a house here in 2021 and I'm still on the fence after all this time. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

We moved here with our family and I have mixed feelings honestly. Schools in North area are improving. Kids love it here.

I've lived in South for about 2 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

the quality of life is solid. When I first moved here from Seattle, I was surprised by school system. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Lots of new development happening
- Good airport with direct flights
- The nightlife scene is solid

The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for remote workers. Feel free to reach out with questions..

I've lived in Highland for about 2 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's exactly what I was looking for. When I first moved here from Salt Lake City, I was surprised by cultural scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good internet infrastructure
- Close to major attractions
- The safety scene is challenging

The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Urban sprawl is real

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for retirees. Good luck with whatever you decide..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Internet is surprisingly good in most areas.

I work in finance here and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The job market for my field is hit or miss. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a electrician who relocated here from Dallas about 8 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and quality of life.

Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Diverse dining options
- Lots of family-friendly activities

Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Winters are long and cold

Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are growing, gas is solid.

Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.

I've been here 12 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is public transit. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the healthcare is legit. And if you're into hiking, this place is solid.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The South side vs the Lakewood side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I've lived in Old Town for about 1 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Raleigh, I was surprised by cost of living. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Active local events and festivals
- The food scene scene is hit or miss

The downsides:
- Dating scene is rough
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for families. Happy to answer more specific questions..
