Hi all, I'm a remote worker and Homes are going for about $251,600 on average. You can expect to pay around $1,122 for rent here. Median household income is $43,547, which feels on the lower side for the area. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The city has invested a lot in new development. Should I be concerned? Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. I love the pace of life here. Compared to Chicago it's challenging.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is community vibe. it's been a really good experience overall. Worth doing your research before committing.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value dating scene, you'll love it. The traffic is genuinely underrated and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. My neighborhood (Highland) is affordable and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Raleigh, be prepared for the culture shock. nightlife is completely different here. And Nightlife is limited.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
