I'm a nurse at the local hospital and The unemployment rate is 3.1%, which is pretty low. The weather takes some getting used to. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Appreciate any input. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

I've been here 5 years and I have mixed feelings honestly. The thing nobody mentions is walkability. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the cultural scene is legit. And if you're into running, this place is underrated.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Lakewood side vs the Sunset side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

That said, the job market is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is surprisingly good.

Public transit is surprisingly good here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I'm still on the fence after all this time.
