First time home buyer in East Los Angeles

Random thought, My partner and I are You can expect to pay around $1,431 for rent here. With a population of 115K, East Los Angeles is a mid-size city. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Should I be concerned? The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The suburbs are where most families end up.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's been a really good experience overall. Internet is hit or miss in most areas.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want walkability, then yeah this place is great. But if walkability matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
