Longtime lurker here, Military spouse here. Crime rate is something to consider -East Los Angeles sits at 148.5 per 100K. It's a a mid-size city city with about 115K people. With a population of 115K, East Los Angeles is a mid-size city. Homes are going for about $613,600 on average. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Looking forward to hearing from you all. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.
