Working remotely from East Los Angeles — my experience

I've been working remotely from East Los Angeles for 11 years now. Here's my take:

The pace of life here is perfect for remote work. No crazy commute stress, affordable living, and enough amenities to not feel isolated.

Cost of living: a bit high but manageable
Internet: Fiber available in most areas — no complaints
Coworking spaces: Limited but the library works in a pinch

If you're looking for a place to WFH, East Los Angeles is a solid choice.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem decent.

I've been here 2 years and I genuinely enjoy living here. The thing nobody mentions is healthcare. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the cost of living is legit. And if you're into kayaking, this place is solid.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The West side vs the East side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

I'm a electrician and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. The community is decent and there's always something going on.

Public transit is challenging here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it was the best decision I ever made.

Used to live on the Uptown side, now on the South side. Completely different vibe. I'm still on the fence after all this time.
