Considering East Massapequa vs Portland -help me decide
Hello, We're a young couple and It's a a small town city with about 20,142 people. With a population of 20,142, East Massapequa is a small town. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Any advice would be great. Thanks in advance! The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 3 years ago from Seattle and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in North. It's underrated for what you get.
Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in tech. If you're in legal you might struggle.
People: Generally excellent. It took about 8 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like Indian.
No regrets on my end..

I've lived in Cedar Grove for about 9 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from Nashville, I was surprised by job market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Lots of new development happening
- The weather scene is tough
The downsides:
- Limited entertainment options
- Far from beaches/mountains
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for singles. Happy to answer more specific questions..
