Alright, Military spouse here. With a population of 35,806, East Meadow is a smaller city. Homes are going for about $613,900 on average. Crime rate is something to consider -East Meadow sits at 26.2 per 100K. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The city has invested a lot in new development.
Pros:
- Nice parks and trails
- Low crime in most areas
- Good schools
- Lots of new development
- Active local events
Cons:
- Cold winters
- Sprawl everywhere
- Poor road conditions
- Limited cultural events
