Is East Niles worth it salary-wise?

First post here. Median household income is $51,250, which feels on the lower side for the area. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Thoughts? The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The weather takes some getting used to.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem excellent.

I've been here 7 years and I have mixed feelings honestly. The thing nobody mentions is housing market. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the food scene is legit. And if you're into golfing, this place is excellent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Old Town side vs the Fairview side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Hope this helps!.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from San Francisco and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Midtown. It's average for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in real estate. If you're in real estate you might struggle.

People: Generally excellent. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: improving. Tons of options if you like Asian.

Happy to answer more specific questions..

I work in education here and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The job market for my field is underrated. Good luck with whatever you decide..
