Hi all, We're a young couple and Rent is about $1,372/month for a decent place. Crime rate is something to consider -East Orange sits at 428.4 per 100K. The unemployment rate is 6.8%, which is concerning. Average temperature is around 55--F, so expect cold winters. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The suburbs are where most families end up. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.
