Random thought, My family moved here when I was a kid. Household incomes average around $59,872 in East Orange. With a population of 69,183, East Orange is a smaller city. Crime rate is something to consider -East Orange sits at 428.4 per 100K. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Should I be concerned? Looking forward to hearing from you all. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The suburbs are where most families end up. The weather takes some getting used to. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Weather-wise, the summers are tough and winters are manageable. You get used to it after the first year.

Hot take but it was the best decision I ever made. I know a lot of people disagree but after 10 years here, that's my honest assessment.
