OK so Homes are going for about $1,002,700 on average. Crime rate is something to consider -East Pasadena sits at 37.4 per 100K. The median home value here is around $1,002,700, which is pretty steep. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Let me know your thoughts. Looking forward to hearing from you all. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The suburbs are where most families end up. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

Moved here from Nashville about 2 years ago. I have mixed feelings honestly. Still getting used to healthcare but Definitely worth checking out..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a electrician who relocated here from Chicago about 15 years ago. The main reasons were a job opportunity and school.
Pros I've experienced:
- Lots of new development happening
- Good internet infrastructure
- Good airport with direct flights
Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Homeless population growing downtown
Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are reasonable, gas is excellent.
Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Good luck with whatever you decide..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is public transit. it was the best decision I ever made. Worth doing your research before committing.

We moved here with our family and I have mixed feelings honestly. Schools in Springfield area are challenging. Kids love it here.
