Is East Point a good place to live?

Hey folks, I'm originally from Portland and Poverty rate is 19.7%, which is higher than I expected. Crime rate is something to consider -East Point sits at 1,291.4 per 100K. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Should I be concerned?

We moved here with our family and it's been a really good experience overall. Schools in Greenfield area are challenging. Kids love it here.

Came here for a fresh start and stayed because it's not perfect but it works for me. The public transit is honestly challenging and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I'm a data analyst and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. The community is hit or miss and there's always something going on.

I've been living here for 13 years and I'd say I have mixed feelings honestly. The housing market is improving compared to other places I've lived. Overall Feel free to reach out with questions..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.

I've been here 12 years and it's been a really good experience overall. The thing nobody mentions is job market. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the cost of living is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is better than expected.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Riverside side vs the East side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Hope this helps!.

The food scene here is underrated. Tons of great Southern places. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.
