Best neighborhoods to rent in East Port Orchard?

My family moved here when I was a kid. Poverty rate is 10.3%, which is around average. You can expect to pay around $1,632 for rent here. The unemployment rate is 4.6%, which is about average. Average temperature is around 52--F, so expect cold winters. Property taxes are high but you get good services. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Anyone in a similar situation? I'd say it's better for families than young singles. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Sunset for 3 years. Moved from Baltimore for a fresh start. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is decent. We bought in 2017 at k and it's now worth up significantly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. Older homes are where the value is.

**Employment:**
education is strong here. consulting is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are manageable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it's not perfect but it works for me. The outdoor scene is decent - we have hiking trails within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Sunset schools are pretty good. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Limited public transit options. Far from beaches/mountains. And community vibe can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For retirees, I'd say this is a 5/10. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. the quality of life is solid. Compared to Denver it's excellent.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem tough.

I've been here 1 years and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The thing nobody mentions is healthcare. It's manageable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the cultural scene is legit. And if you're into camping, this place is excellent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Old Town side vs the West side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Happy to answer more specific questions..
