OK so Born and raised here. Median household income is $79,660, which feels about average for the area. Poverty rate is 7.9%, which is pretty low. Crime rate is something to consider -East Providence sits at 130.3 per 100K. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Any advice would be great. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a contractor who relocated here from Baltimore about 4 years ago. The main reasons were weather and school.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good healthcare facilities

Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are pricey, gas is excellent.

Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Good luck with whatever you decide..
