First time home buyer in East Renton Highlands

So, Rent is about $2,697/month for a decent place. With a population of 12,241, East Renton Highlands is a small town. It's a a small town city with about 12,241 people. Crime rate is something to consider -East Renton Highlands sits at 52.4 per 100K. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Is this normal for East Renton Highlands? Any help is appreciated. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Weather-wise, the summers are hit or miss and winters are wild. You get used to it after the first year.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem pretty good.

I've been here 10 years and it exceeded my expectations. The thing nobody mentions is safety. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the community vibe is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is decent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The South side vs the Cedar Grove side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Definitely worth checking out..
