Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a accountant who relocated here from Austin about 11 years ago. The main reasons were weather and a fresh start.
Pros I've experienced:
- Lots of new development happening
- Close to major attractions
- Strong sense of community
Cons that are real:
- Can feel isolated
- Dating scene is rough
Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are wild, gas is better than expected.
Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
