Honest thoughts on life in East Riverdale

Curious what people think. I'm retired and The unemployment rate is 5.7%, which is about average. Median household income is $82,401, which feels pretty solid for the area. Poverty rate is 16.9%, which is higher than I expected. With a population of 19,043, East Riverdale is a small town. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The weather takes some getting used to. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Pros:
- Diverse community
- Easy commute
- Active local events
- Good airport connections

Cons:
- Limited public transit
- Lack of diversity
- Poor road conditions
- Far from major airports
- Homelessness issues downtown
The weather takes some getting used to. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The weather takes some getting used to. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much.

I'm a sales manager and I've found the quality of life is solid. The community is challenging and there's always something going on.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.

I've been here 3 years and the quality of life is solid. The thing nobody mentions is housing market. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the school system is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is improving.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Old Town side vs the Lakewood side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Feel free to reach out with questions..

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. No regrets on my end..
