Commute times in East Rutherford -how bad?

I'm a college student here and Household incomes average around $91,789 in East Rutherford. With a population of 10,154, East Rutherford is a small town. Average temperature is around 55--F, so the weather is moderate. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The suburbs are where most families end up. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. I've lived in Greenfield for about 5 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's exactly what I was looking for. When I first moved here from Austin, I was surprised by food scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Lots of new development happening
- Diverse dining options
- The community vibe scene is tough

The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Nightlife is limited

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for young professionals. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.

I've been here 9 years and it exceeded my expectations. The thing nobody mentions is school system. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the community vibe is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is better than expected.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Eastside side vs the Riverside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Definitely worth checking out..
