We're a young couple and It's a a small town city with about 10,385 people. You can expect to pay around $2,189 for rent here. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The weather takes some getting used to. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Let me know your thoughts. The city has invested a lot in new development. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

I've lived in East for about 6 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's improved dramatically in recent years. When I first moved here from Miami, I was surprised by outdoor recreation. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Lots of new development happening
- Active local events and festivals
- The housing market scene is excellent
The downsides:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Limited entertainment options
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for couples. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is cost of living. I have mixed feelings honestly. Worth doing your research before committing.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. I genuinely enjoy living here. Compared to Chicago it's better than expected.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value community vibe, you'll love it. The housing market is genuinely hit or miss and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. My neighborhood (West) is affordable and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from LA, be prepared for the culture shock. walkability is completely different here. And Can feel isolated.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a data analyst who relocated here from Salt Lake City about 9 years ago. The main reasons were work and my partner's job.
Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Good internet infrastructure
- Good airport with direct flights
Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Dating scene is rough
Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are competitive, gas is decent.
Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Hope this helps!.

Hot take but I genuinely enjoy living here. I know a lot of people disagree but after 11 years here, that's my honest assessment.
