Is East Shoreham getting better or worse?

Hey, I'm retired and Homes are going for about $542,000 on average. The median home value here is around $542,000, which is pretty steep. Median household income is $165,789, which feels pretty solid for the area. It's a a small town city with about 7,279 people. The weather takes some getting used to. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Anyone in a similar situation? Appreciate any input. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem challenging.

I've been here 4 years and the quality of life is solid. The thing nobody mentions is cost of living. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the cost of living is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is underrated.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Maple Ridge side vs the Oak Park side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

No regrets on my end..
