Random thought, I work in energy and Median household income is $30,992, which feels on the lower side for the area. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 13 years ago from New York and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in Old Town. It's excellent for what you get.
Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in education you might struggle.
People: Generally excellent. It took about 8 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: underrated. Tons of options if you like craft beer.
