We moved here with our family and it's exactly what I was looking for. Schools in Uptown area are challenging. Kids love it here.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Internet is decent in most areas.

I've lived in Riverside for about 11 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's improved dramatically in recent years. When I first moved here from Salt Lake City, I was surprised by dating scene. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Active local events and festivals
- The school system scene is tough
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for families. Feel free to reach out with questions..

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are average, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

I've been living here for 7 years and I'd say it's been a really good experience overall. The traffic is pretty good compared to other places I've lived. Overall Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem underrated.
I've been here 4 years and it's exactly what I was looking for. The thing nobody mentions is pet-friendliness. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the weather is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is pretty good.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The The Heights side vs the Cedar Grove side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Hope this helps!.

I've been here 13 years and it exceeded my expectations. The thing nobody mentions is nightlife. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the food scene is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is hit or miss.

No regrets on my end..

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a lawyer who relocated here from Houston about 4 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and retirement.
Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good airport with direct flights
- Strong sense of community
Cons that are real:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Dating scene is rough
Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are developing, gas is surprisingly good.
Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. No regrets on my end..

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby

- Good healthcare facilities
Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options

Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are stable, gas is challenging.
Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
