Anyone else feel this way? I relocated for work and The median home value here is around $113,000, which is actually reasonable. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Does this match your experience? Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are decent, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want cost of living, then yeah this place is great. But if nightlife matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value food scene, you'll love it. The nightlife is genuinely hit or miss and I've found it's exactly what I was looking for. My neighborhood (Maple Ridge) is stable and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Tampa, be prepared for the culture shock. cultural scene is completely different here. And Limited public transit options.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Internet is hit or miss in most areas.

If you value pet-friendliness, you'll love it. The food scene is genuinely pretty good and I've found it's improved dramatically in recent years. My neighborhood (Midtown) is growing and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Tampa, be prepared for the culture shock. outdoor recreation is completely different here. And Rising rent and home prices.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from Austin and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Westside. It's excellent for what you get.
Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in government. If you're in retail you might struggle.
People: Generally excellent. It took about 15 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.
