Hi all, It's a a small town city with about 14,114 people. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. What would you do? There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is pet-friendliness. it was the best decision I ever made. Worth doing your research before committing.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, I'm still on the fence after all this time. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Used to live on the Maple Ridge side, now on the Midtown side. Completely different vibe. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I love the pace of life here. Internet is solid in most areas.

Weather-wise, the summers are challenging and winters are stable. You get used to it after the first year.

Came here for retirement and stayed because it's not perfect but it works for me. The safety is honestly solid and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are improving, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

I've lived in Springfield for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's improved dramatically in recent years. When I first moved here from Portland, I was surprised by public transit. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Nice parks and green spaces
- The public transit scene is better than expected
The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Dating scene is rough
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for singles. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
