Poverty rate is 2.2%, which is pretty low. With a population of 20,519, Eastchester is a small town. The weather takes some getting used to. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. What do you all think? There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are improving, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 10 years ago from Tampa and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Downtown. It's tough for what you get.
Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in retail. If you're in construction you might struggle.
People: Generally surprisingly good. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like Thai.
