Thinking about relocating to Easton from Boston

Hi all, Military spouse here. You can expect to pay around $1,177 for rent here. The median home value here is around $348,400, which seems about average. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The city has invested a lot in new development. What do you all think? The city has invested a lot in new development. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

I'm a writer and I've found I genuinely enjoy living here. The community is hit or miss and there's always something going on.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a accountant, 39, moved here 3 years ago from Seattle. I've lived in Meadowbrook and Riverside, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Strong job market in several industries
2. Close to major attractions
3. Lots of family-friendly activities
4. The people are generally excellent - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Summers can be brutally hot
2. Property taxes are high
3. The weather situation is reasonable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Meadowbrook: Great for singles. decent vibes, walkable.
- Riverside: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Seattle, everything felt tough. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are growing. Gas is competitive. You can live comfortably on $80K-$150K here.

**Final verdict:**
Definitely worth checking out.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are excellent, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

I've lived in Fairview for about 11 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it's been a really good experience overall. When I first moved here from Charlotte, I was surprised by weather. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good schools in most areas
- The nightlife scene is underrated

The downsides:
- Property taxes are high
- Dating scene is rough

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for young professionals. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from San Francisco and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Cedar Grove. It's average for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in finance. If you're in finance you might struggle.

People: Generally tough. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: hit or miss. Tons of options if you like seafood.

Good luck with whatever you decide..
