What I wish I knew before living in Easton

So, I'm a college student here and The median home value here is around $793,800, which is pretty steep. Average temperature is around 45--F, so expect cold winters. The food scene here is surprisingly good. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Has anyone dealt with this? Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a physical therapist who relocated here from Boston about 6 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Decent public transit for the size
- Good internet infrastructure
- Affordable housing options

Cons that are real:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Far from beaches/mountains

Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are affordable, gas is underrated.

Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Feel free to reach out with questions..

I've lived in Midtown for about 15 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Denver, I was surprised by job market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Affordable housing options
- The pet-friendliness scene is decent

The downsides:
- Not a lot of cultural diversity
- Can feel isolated

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for remote workers. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's been a really good experience overall. Internet is surprisingly good in most areas.

Weather-wise, the summers are hit or miss and winters are competitive. You get used to it after the first year.
