Moving to Eastpointe -what should I know?

Anyone else feel this way? I've been here for 2 years and Rent is about $1,335/month for a decent place. The unemployment rate is 8.3%, which is concerning. Homes are going for about $129,100 on average. Median household income is $58,196, which feels about average for the area. You can expect to pay around $1,335 for rent here. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. What do you all think? It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The weather takes some getting used to. The suburbs are where most families end up. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Property taxes are high but you get good services. As someone who grew up here, I have mixed feelings honestly. A lot has changed in the past few years though. outdoor recreation used to be much stable but now it's solid.

We moved here with our family and I love the pace of life here. Schools in Lakewood area are tough. Kids love it here.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I love the pace of life here. Internet is challenging in most areas.

I've been living here for 7 years and I'd say it exceeded my expectations. The safety is hit or miss compared to other places I've lived. Overall Good luck with whatever you decide..
