So, I'm single, late 40s, and You can expect to pay around $2,180 for rent here. Median household income is $129,034, which feels pretty solid for the area. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. What would you do?

I'm a marketing manager and I've found it exceeded my expectations. The community is underrated and there's always something going on.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want housing market, then yeah this place is great. But if safety matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is cultural scene. I love the pace of life here. Worth doing your research before committing.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in Highland for 7 years. Moved from Dallas for cost of living. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is pretty good. We bought in 2019 at k and it's now worth up significantly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 1-bed in a safe area. Lots of new construction which should help.
**Employment:**
government is strong here. government is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are affordable for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
I genuinely enjoy living here. The outdoor scene is solid - we have rivers within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Highland schools are challenging. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Property taxes are high. Dating scene is rough. And traffic can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For families, I'd say this is a 7/10. Definitely worth checking out.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

As someone who grew up here, it was the best decision I ever made. A lot has changed in the past few years though. cultural scene used to be much reasonable but now it's hit or miss.

I've been living here for 13 years and I'd say it's not perfect but it works for me. The healthcare is average compared to other places I've lived. Overall Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
