Alright, My partner and I are Poverty rate is 6.3%, which is pretty low. The unemployment rate is 2.6%, which is pretty low. Rent is about $971/month for a decent place. Crime rate is something to consider -Eau Claire sits at 276.0 per 100K. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Would love some local perspective. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from Portland and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in West. It's average for what you get.

Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in marketing you might struggle.

People: Generally tough. It took about 6 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: decent. Tons of options if you like Korean.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Public transit is decent here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it exceeded my expectations.

Used to live on the Springfield side, now on the East side. Completely different vibe. I have mixed feelings honestly.
