Eau Claire vs San Diego -which is better?

Alright, Military spouse here. You can expect to pay around $971 for rent here. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Should I be concerned? It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The suburbs are where most families end up.

As someone who grew up here, it exceeded my expectations. A lot has changed in the past few years though. outdoor recreation used to be much reasonable but now it's average.
