Studio apartments in Eau Claire -options?

Hi all, Military spouse here. The median home value here is around $228,000, which is actually reasonable. The unemployment rate is 2.6%, which is pretty low. Average temperature is around 45--F, so bundle up in winter. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The city has invested a lot in new development. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Pros:
- Nice parks and trails
- Low crime in most areas
- Easy commute
- Active local events

Cons:
- High property taxes
- Few job opportunities in some fields
- Mosquitoes and humidity
- Limited cultural events
Am I wrong here? It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The suburbs are where most families end up. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The suburbs are where most families end up. If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Internet is tough in most areas.

Used to live on the Old Town side, now on the North side. Completely different vibe. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad.
