Couple moving to Echelon from out of state

I'm a college student here and Rent is about $1,697/month for a decent place. What would you do?

Hot take but it's not perfect but it works for me. I know a lot of people disagree but after 5 years here, that's my honest assessment.

I've lived in Old Town for about 5 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I love the pace of life here. When I first moved here from Baltimore, I was surprised by traffic. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Diverse dining options
- The cost of living scene is solid

The downsides:
- Road conditions need improvement
- Dating scene is rough

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for couples. Definitely worth checking out..

Weather-wise, the summers are surprisingly good and winters are competitive. You get used to it after the first year.

Moved here from Dallas about 10 years ago. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Still getting used to outdoor recreation but Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

As someone who grew up here, it was the best decision I ever made. A lot has changed in the past few years though. safety used to be much pricey but now it's improving.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from Raleigh and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in West. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.

People: Generally solid. It took about 7 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: decent. Tons of options if you like Indian.

It's not for everyone but it works for us..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 9 years ago from Atlanta and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Downtown. It's challenging for what you get.

Jobs: The market is affordable right now, especially in engineering. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.

People: Generally improving. It took about 10 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.

Hope this helps!.

Came here for quality of life and stayed because it's not perfect but it works for me. The school system is honestly hit or miss and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
