Starting a business in Echelon?

Hey folks, I'm a college student here and Household incomes average around $81,808 in Echelon. The median home value here is around $288,000, which seems about average. The city has invested a lot in new development. The suburbs are where most families end up. Does this match your experience? The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.

I've been here 10 years and it's been a really good experience overall. The thing nobody mentions is walkability. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the pet-friendliness is legit. And if you're into skiing, this place is average.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The The Heights side vs the Old Town side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Definitely worth checking out..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 13 years ago from Minneapolis and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Meadowbrook. It's excellent for what you get.

Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in engineering. If you're in education you might struggle.

People: Generally hit or miss. It took about 17 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: decent. Tons of options if you like seafood.

Hope this helps!.
