Is it worth buying in Economy?
First post here. I'm retired and Crime rate is something to consider -Economy sits at 53.6 per 100K. Average temperature is around 52--F, so expect cold winters. Household incomes average around $94,430 in Economy. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Property taxes are high but you get good services.
Pros:
- Great weather
- Growing food scene
- Good internet infrastructure
- Good airport connections
Cons:
- Limited public transit
- Not very walkable
- Poor road conditions
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Homelessness issues downtown
