Job market in Economy for tech?

Crime rate is something to consider -Economy sits at 53.6 per 100K. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. the quality of life is solid. Internet is tough in most areas.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a writer, 55, moved here 9 years ago from Nashville. I've lived in Downtown and Sunset, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Cost of living is very reasonable
2. Great outdoor activities nearby
3. Good schools in most areas
4. The people are generally solid - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Urban sprawl is real
2. Property taxes are high
3. The cost of living situation is stable and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Downtown: Great for remote workers. tough vibes, walkable.
- Sunset: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Nashville, everything felt tough. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are competitive. Gas is reasonable. You can live comfortably on $70K-$130K here.

**Final verdict:**
Feel free to reach out with questions.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem surprisingly good.

I've been here 10 years and I have mixed feelings honestly. The thing nobody mentions is housing market. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the public transit is legit. And if you're into surfing, this place is surprisingly good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Greenfield side vs the Downtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Happy to answer more specific questions..

My experience has been mostly positive. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The only thing I'd watch out for is safety. Other than that, It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I've lived in Meadowbrook for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from Atlanta, I was surprised by community vibe. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Affordable housing options
- Strong sense of community
- The dating scene scene is excellent

The downsides:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Nightlife is limited

Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for remote workers. Would recommend to anyone considering it..
