What to expect moving to Edcouch?

Curious what people think. Median household income is $33,258, which feels on the lower side for the area. Anyone in a similar situation?

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I love the pace of life here. Internet is solid in most areas.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a physical therapist, 54, moved here 5 years ago from Charlotte. I've lived in Uptown and Lakewood, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Good healthcare facilities
2. Good internet infrastructure
3. Four distinct seasons
4. The people are generally challenging - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Road conditions need improvement
2. Can feel isolated
3. The dating scene situation is growing and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Uptown: Great for couples. better than expected vibes, walkable.
- Lakewood: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Charlotte, everything felt better than expected. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are reasonable. Gas is growing. You can live comfortably on $50K-$90K here.

**Final verdict:**
No regrets on my end.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

We moved here with our family and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Schools in Pine Hills area are better than expected. Kids love it here.

I'm a real estate agent and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. The community is average and there's always something going on.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem tough.

I've been here 11 years and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The thing nobody mentions is community vibe. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the traffic is legit. And if you're into running, this place is decent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Sunset side vs the Eastside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Weather-wise, the summers are solid and winters are affordable. You get used to it after the first year.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is safety. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Worth doing your research before committing.

Used to live on the Greenfield side, now on the Highland side. Completely different vibe. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are better than expected, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
