Couple moving to Eden Prairie from out of state

Been meaning to ask this. I grew up here but left for a while. Household incomes average around $127,732 in Eden Prairie. You can expect to pay around $1,761 for rent here. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Let me know your thoughts. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from LA and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Greenfield. It's surprisingly good for what you get.

Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in engineering. If you're in retail you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 15 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: tough. Tons of options if you like Southern.

Hope this helps!.

Public transit is surprisingly good here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's not perfect but it works for me.

I'm a teacher and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The community is decent and there's always something going on.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value cost of living, you'll love it. The school system is genuinely underrated and I've found it exceeded my expectations. My neighborhood (Maple Ridge) is established and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Pittsburgh, be prepared for the culture shock. dating scene is completely different here. And Not a lot of cultural diversity.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Internet is surprisingly good in most areas.
