Is Eden Prairie walkable?

Hey, What are your go-to spots? Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

My experience has been mostly positive. I'm still on the fence after all this time. The only thing I'd watch out for is public transit. Other than that, Hope this helps!.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a sales manager who relocated here from Phoenix about 1 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and my partner's job.

Pros I've experienced:
- Active local events and festivals
- Good airport with direct flights
- Strong sense of community

Cons that are real:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Property taxes are high

Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are stable, gas is decent.

Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want cultural scene, then yeah this place is great. But if pet-friendliness matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a real estate agent who relocated here from Nashville about 1 years ago. The main reasons were work and a job opportunity.

Pros I've experienced:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Four distinct seasons

Cons that are real:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Dating scene is rough

Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are wild, gas is challenging.

Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Definitely worth checking out..

We moved here with our family and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Schools in Downtown area are tough. Kids love it here.

Bought a house here in 2019 and it exceeded my expectations. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from Dallas and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Midtown. It's better than expected for what you get.

Jobs: The market is growing right now, especially in government. If you're in government you might struggle.

People: Generally better than expected. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like Mediterranean.

Good luck with whatever you decide..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Westside for 12 years. Moved from Boston for weather. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is surprisingly good. We bought in 2016 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals.

**Employment:**
legal is strong here. government is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are developing for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The outdoor scene is better than expected - we have rivers within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Westside schools are improving. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Traffic during rush hour is rough. Winters are long and cold. And school system can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For remote workers, I'd say this is a 6/10. Feel free to reach out with questions.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

As someone who grew up here, it's not perfect but it works for me. A lot has changed in the past few years though. job market used to be much pricey but now it's tough.
