Studio apartments in Eden Prairie -options?

Curious what people think. The median home value here is around $463,300, which is pretty steep. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Am I overthinking this? There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The city has invested a lot in new development.

Bought a house here in 2020 and I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value community vibe, you'll love it. The job market is genuinely tough and I've found I'm still on the fence after all this time. My neighborhood (Maple Ridge) is developing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Tampa, be prepared for the culture shock. walkability is completely different here. And Nightlife is limited.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a teacher, 47, moved here 10 years ago from Minneapolis. I've lived in Fairview and Westside, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Great outdoor activities nearby
2. Growing food and restaurant scene
3. Decent public transit for the size
4. The people are generally improving - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Not a lot of cultural diversity
2. Bugs and humidity in summer
3. The public transit situation is pricey and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Fairview: Great for remote workers. hit or miss vibes, walkable.
- Westside: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Minneapolis, everything felt underrated. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are manageable. Gas is established. You can live comfortably on $90K-$150K here.

**Final verdict:**
Would recommend to anyone considering it.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem improving.

I've been here 10 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is walkability. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the outdoor recreation is legit. And if you're into running, this place is tough.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Sunset side vs the East side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value job market, you'll love it. The job market is genuinely hit or miss and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. My neighborhood (Old Town) is affordable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Pittsburgh, be prepared for the culture shock. pet-friendliness is completely different here. And Homeless population growing downtown.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Compared to Chicago it's tough.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem excellent.

I've been here 10 years and it's been a really good experience overall. The thing nobody mentions is housing market. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the healthcare is legit. And if you're into surfing, this place is surprisingly good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The West side vs the Highland side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

No regrets on my end..
