Moving to Edgemoor with kids -good idea?

Just moved here 18 months ago and Median household income is $79,572, which feels about average for the area. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 12 years ago from Miami and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Meadowbrook. It's improving for what you get.

Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in real estate. If you're in legal you might struggle.

People: Generally underrated. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: tough. Tons of options if you like BBQ.

Jobs: The market is pricey right now, especially in healthcare. If you're in consulting you might struggle.

People: Generally excellent. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: tough. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.

No regrets on my end..
