Bought a house here in 2021 and I genuinely enjoy living here. Property values have gone about the same since then.

I've lived in East for about 13 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from Tampa, I was surprised by housing market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good schools in most areas
- The outdoor recreation scene is surprisingly good

The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Nightlife is limited

Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for singles. No regrets on my end..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value pet-friendliness, you'll love it. The cost of living is genuinely better than expected and I've found it was the best decision I ever made. My neighborhood (South) is reasonable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Baltimore, be prepared for the culture shock. job market is completely different here. And Chain restaurants dominate.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want cultural scene, then yeah this place is great. But if outdoor recreation matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
