Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want school system, then yeah this place is great. But if dating scene matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

I'm a marketing manager who relocated here from Phoenix about 3 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and quality of life.
Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Good healthcare facilities
- Strong sense of community
Cons that are real:
- Can feel isolated
- Dating scene is rough
Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are pricey, gas is decent.
Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. Definitely worth checking out..

I've lived in Uptown for about 11 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Nashville, I was surprised by cost of living. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Lots of new development happening
- The cost of living scene is improving
The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Chain restaurants dominate
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for singles. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

If you value community vibe, you'll love it. The cost of living is genuinely underrated and I've found it's exactly what I was looking for. My neighborhood (The Heights) is wild and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Atlanta, be prepared for the culture shock. outdoor recreation is completely different here. And Property taxes are high.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

2. Bugs and humidity in summer

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Highland: Great for remote workers. improving vibes, walkable.
- Old Town: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
