Edina job market vs Baltimore

Curious what people think. I'm a college student here and Poverty rate is 1.9%, which is pretty low. The median home value here is around $624,000, which is pretty steep. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The weather takes some getting used to. Does this match your experience? TIA! Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

We moved here with our family and I genuinely enjoy living here. Schools in Downtown area are surprisingly good. Kids love it here.

The food scene here is average. Tons of great craft beer places. it's been a really good experience overall.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Eastside for 15 years. Moved from Boston for a fresh start. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is pretty good. We bought in 2020 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 3-bed in a safe area. Older homes are where the value is.

**Employment:**
consulting is strong here. manufacturing is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are affordable for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
it's exactly what I was looking for. The outdoor scene is solid - we have state parks within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Eastside schools are solid. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Chain restaurants dominate. Homeless population growing downtown. And cultural scene can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For remote workers, I'd say this is a 8/10. Hope this helps!. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.
