Biggest downsides of living in Edinburg?
Longtime lurker here, I'm retired and Crime rate is something to consider -Edinburg sits at 278.5 per 100K. The unemployment rate is 4.0%, which is pretty low. Rent is about $968/month for a decent place. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The city has invested a lot in new development. The suburbs are where most families end up.
Pros:
- Low crime in most areas
- Good healthcare facilities
- Strong sense of community
- Plenty of shopping options
Cons:
- Limited nightlife
- Not very walkable
- Poor road conditions
- Mosquitoes and humidity
- Chain restaurants dominate
Am I wrong here? The city has invested a lot in new development. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The suburbs are where most families end up.
