Housing in Edinburg compared to Boston

Random thought, I'm a remote worker and You can expect to pay around $968 for rent here. The median home value here is around $174,800, which is actually reasonable. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Has anyone dealt with this? Cheers. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value job market, you'll love it. The food scene is genuinely hit or miss and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. My neighborhood (North) is reasonable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Phoenix, be prepared for the culture shock. nightlife is completely different here. And Summers can be brutally hot.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

The food scene here is decent. Tons of great BBQ places. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

I've been living here for 12 years and I'd say there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The nightlife is tough compared to other places I've lived. Overall Definitely worth checking out..

My experience has been mostly positive. it was the best decision I ever made. The only thing I'd watch out for is job market. Other than that, Definitely worth checking out..
