How much do you pay for rent in Edinburg?

Longtime lurker here, Military spouse here. It's a a mid-size city city with about 103K people. Household incomes average around $57,789 in Edinburg. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The suburbs are where most families end up. The suburbs are where most families end up. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's been a really good experience overall. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

My experience has been mostly positive. it's been a really good experience overall. The only thing I'd watch out for is food scene. Other than that, Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

As someone who grew up here, I genuinely enjoy living here. A lot has changed in the past few years though. pet-friendliness used to be much developing but now it's improving.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 11 years ago from Chicago and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: Older homes are where the value is. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Maple Ridge. It's hit or miss for what you get.

Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in marketing you might struggle.

People: Generally solid. It took about 17 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: solid. Tons of options if you like farm-to-table.

Would recommend to anyone considering it..
